Rs.1,000 Banknotes To Be Issued Non-Sequentially: RBI

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), will soon issue banknotes of Rs.1000 denomination in non-sequential numbering format. The Central Bank in its statement said that, the packet of notes will contain hundred notes in non-sequential numbering.

RBI in the month of June 2010, had already started issuing Rs.500 denomination banknotes in non-sequential numbering. Now it has decided to issue banknotes of Rs.1000 denomination on similar lines. Moreover, these packets will be superscribed with the words “the packet contains 100 notes not numbered sequentially” on the bands of the packets.
