Rs.1000 Notes With ‘R’ And Rs.10 Notes With ‘P’ To be Issued: RBI

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will shortly issue currency notes of Rs.1000 denomination with inset letter ‘R’ and Rs.10 notes with letter ‘P’ in the Mahatma Gandhi series. The Central Bank in its statement mentioned that, the banknotes would bear the signature of Governor of RBI, and the year of printing on the reverse of the banknote.

The design of these notes to be issued will be similar to the earlier banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi series 2005, and those issued earlier will continue to be legal tender.
