Women are Better Tax Planners Than Men: Study

A study by online-income tax filing portal – Taxspanner reveals that, women tax payees are better tax planners than men across the country. The study was conducted across 500 companies and banks in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore.

It shows that, women in Chennai were the best tax planners in the country with an average tax ratio at 2%, followed by women in NCR at 3% and Bangalore at 4%. Women tax payers have a lower income tax slab compared to men and most of them are found to be tax planners in claiming HRA (House Rent Allowance) exemption and deductions under health plans. Thus, females are paying lower tax than men because of lower tax slabs and better investments.

The Online portal Taxspanner has currently over 2.5 lakh customers and targets to double the number during this year. It had recently launched 1500 tax spanning stations across the country.
