Living-Smartly.com – Being Wise, Healthy and Financially Sufficient

Wisdom Is Rare To Find In Humans Even Old Adults

It is said that wisdom is not an outcome of schooling but of the constant endeavor to acquire it. Knowledge is understanding what to say, while wisdom is understanding when to say it. It is one’s knowledge of what is fact-based and real, one’s fine judgment, and the potentiality to learn from one’s experiences and errors.

Wisdom is the principal thing in life. There are many questions we can query ourselves to decide our level of wisdom. For example –

  • Am I able to acclimate to the changes happening in my life?
  • Am I open to the latest ideas, proposals, and even criticisms?
  • Am I capable of solving my daily complications by employing the scientific process?
  • Am I able to admit the things that I cannot change and be ready to change things that I can?
  • Am I able to learn the difference between right and wrong from my experiences and errors?
  • Can I willingly offer the wisdom I have acquired through my experiences to others?

Answering these significant questions can assist us in understanding what wisdom is and why it is essential to our daily lives.

The main elements of wisdom:

  • Change is unavoidable. So, learn to admit it.
  • Learn to listen more than you speak.
  • Carry on by asking questions to yourself.
  • Hold back judgment unless and until you have adequate proof.
  • Willingly offer the knowledge you have acquired to others.
  • Be broad-minded.
  • Take lessons from your mistakes.

But it is observed that there is a lack of wisdom in smart and successful people and old adults in this current scenario, and the proof is all around us. For some people, it has become like a motivational speech from celebrities. In this scenario, we tend to be fast and inexpensive instead of good.

We have no endurance to engage in relevant conversation and disagreement. Youth and beauty are valued over wisdom today. We have become obsessed with beauty and materialism rather than moral values. To keep our children safe, what do we do now? We safeguard our kids from criticism, failure, or anything that seems like a struggle. Doing so, we restrict them from developing the kind of strength that they need to face the challenges essential for living life.

We presume that technology is value-neutral. It does not mean that technology is bad, but we have to pay attention to the impact of technology. Smartphones, social media, and laptops are shaping our lives today. We have to be careful. We lack our culture. We have to remember that wisdom is the foremost thing in life.

Everything that wisdom surrounds is about learning to make the most of life in a way that grants you success and prosperous life. We all desire to live a pleasant and successful life. The only procedure to achieve and maintain it lifelong is through attaining and utilizing wisdom.

Wisdom can enhance our life in all aspects – emotionally, physically, mentally, and financially. Taking lessons and cues from our experiences and other people’s and sharing that wisdom is significant for our existence, and we cannot survive without it.
