How to Develop Wisdom?
Wisdom is a state of mind when you have loads of knowledge, prudence, and common sense. But, how to develop wisdom? When you grow older through observation, encountering tricky situations, and being open to new ideas, you can find the right path to wisdom.
Becoming wise is not an instant thing– it is a process that develops over many years. Getting qualifications through formal education is one step to turning wise. However, to develop intelligence you must have the perfect mix of many other essential factors. How can you work on it and become a wiser human – here is an insight:
- Explore the new: Try new things in life as it helps you open to new ideas and experiences. It is not easy to gain wisdom when you choose to stay in your comfort zone. Coming out of the shell and doing the same activities every day will not add any value and learning to your life. Wisdom calls for exploration and gathering of experience in every walk of life. Learn new things in life. It will make your life an enriching one. Talk to new people. Be open to new ideas. Listen to people carefully and understand their perspectives from your viewpoint. Pay attention.
- Observe- listen-imbibe: Great observation will help you silently to understand other people, how they react, how they act in certain situations, and you can learn a lot from this. Good listening is one of the finest qualities that build wisdom. You can hear motivational speeches, talks of your elders (when they are expressing something for all), listening to the news, and being aware is a simple yet effective passage to wisdom.
- Be accepting: You look at some time and judge their actions, body type, hair quality, or anything – stay from this attitude. Be more accepting of all, and shun the habit of being judgmental. It is a conscious change you must consider inculcating maturity and wisdom.
- Avoid lies and manipulation: As complicated as it may sound if you make sensible behavior, telling the truth without manipulating the actual is the best way to turn wise. But, in a situation where you must hide the truth for the benefit of all, it is better to stay silent. Hiding the truth is not telling lie. But, knowing when to speak and when to not is being mature.
- Meditate: Staying in a calm state for a few minutes is meditation – this helps introspection of thoughts and actions. You can start meditating slowly. Spend a few minutes and then enter for a longer time. The process is calming, which helps in boosting the mind towards wisdom.
Practice these simple techniques and develop wisdom. Make mistakes but don’t repeat them. Learn from your mistakes and you will be wise enough. We sometimes learn things the hard way, and it is okay. Last but not least, don’t forget to share your wisdom with others. Because it is worth it.
