Private Sector Companies Should File TDS by July 15: IT Dept

The Income Tax Department asked private sector employers to file their TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) statement for the quarter ending in June 30, on or before 15th July 2012. The Finance Ministry in a statement asked, government employers to file their TDS statement on or before July 30.

Further, all deductors would have to choose the relevant forms and quote correct PAN (Permanent Account Number) against all entries. Delay in filing TDS statements or non-quoting of PAN or TAN in TDS statements may lead to levy of penalty.

The statement also mentions that, TDS certificate for deductions on income other than salary income (Form 16A) for the quarter will be issued on or before July 30.
